Your tã cipher. A further riduction of the infantry garrison
of Hong Kong seem to be rendered possible by the present naval and
military situation in the far Basb. As to this you should sonsult
the Governor. It is proposed, assuming the riduction to be feasible,
to send from Hong Kong to fi ntsin half wither 10th Pathans or
74th Punjabis to replass half 36th Sikha non at Tiɑntsin. Would
it be possible for transpert conveying † battalion 36th Sikhs from
Tientsin to dull at Tsingtaw to pick up there † battalion and
details ?. The 36th gikhs will then proceed on active survice to
Bist Africa. Telegraph which battalion you select from which †
b. ttalion is to be sent to Tientsin and whether you o mour in the
reduction by half a battalion of the Hong Yong infantry garrison.
